People with special needs are often neglected and many do not get opportunities their colleagues who do not have special needs get. In attempting to bridge the gap between them many educational institutions try to create curricula that will help the blind and the deaf achieve their dreams. There is a need for deaf people who are interested in teaching and educating and inspiring Young people who have conditions similar to theirs.
For the tertiary level, there are 3 colleges of education that basically offer admission to people with special needs (blind and deaf). The Schools are
- Nusrat Jahan Ahmadiya College of Education, Wa
- Wesley College of Education, Kumasi
- Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong.
