KNUST has options for those who have nursing diplomas from recognized institutions to enroll in their Degree nursing programme to upgrade the skills and knowledge of professional nurses. Many nurses who have their diploma qualifications after working some years desire to upgrade their certificates to degree so as to increase their knowledge and also place them better in their various institutions of work. The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has a school of nursing that is seeks to produce intellectual professional nurses for the health services of Ghana.
Requirements
- Applicant’s are required to be at least 25 years and above at the time of submitting the application.
- The applicant must be a Registered General Nurse with a Diploma in Nursing.
- They are also expected to have a minimum of 2 years working experience in a clinical area.
- An interview will be conducted and prospective students would have to pass the interview.
Incidentally, KNUST runs two modules of nursing : general nursing and emergency nursing. All applicants will will be required to select ONLY ONE of the two options. Requirements are the same for both options.
Successful applicants would be placed in second or third year depending on the decision to be taken by the academic board.
