2020/2021 University of Ghana Undergraduate Admission Into College of Education-WASSCE

The College of Education of the University of Ghana is a relatively younger college as compared to her colleagues the Colleges of Science and Humanities. The college aims to create an enabling environment that make the College of Education increasingly relevant to national and global development, through cutting edge research and innovative ICT-driven high-quality teaching and learning in all units within the College to achieve a fully rounded educator.

The admission requirements are as follows:

Under the School of Education & Leadership, the following courses and qualifications apply:

• BA Education (English)

       Entry requirements:

             Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies

             Electives: Credit passes in any three elective subjects including English Literature.

• BA Education (Non-Teaching)

       Entry requirements:

             Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies

             Electives: Credit passes in any three elective subjects.

• BA Sport and Physical Culture Studies

       Entry requirements

             Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies

             Electives: Credit passes in any three elective subjects

• B.Sc. Education (Mathematics)

       Entry requirements:

             Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies

             Electives: Credit passes in Elective Mathematics. and any other two elective subjects

• B.Sc. Education (Biology)

       Entry requirements:

             Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies

             Electives: Credit passes in Biology and any other two elective subjects

• B.Sc. Education (Chemistry)

       Entry requirements:

             Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies

             Electives: Credit passes in Chemistry and any other two elective subjects

• B.Sc. Education (Physics)

       Entry requirements:

             Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies

             Electives: Credit passes in Physics and any other two elective subjects

School of Continuing & Distance Education – This school facilitates the teaching and learning mandates of the University without compromising on distance. People from places far away from the University who cannot be on the campus full time can still enjoy quality tutoring and still graduate with their respective qualifications. Workers and part timers also enjoy from this arrangement. Their qualifications include :

• Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

       Entry requirements:

            Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies

            Electives: Credit passes in any three elective subjects with the total aggregate not exceeding 24

• Bachelor of Arts

       Entry Requirements:

             Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies

Electives: Credit passes in any three elective subjects with the total aggregate not more than 30

• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology

       Entry Requirements:

             Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies

Electives: Credit passes in any three elective subjects with the total aggregate not exceeding 30

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Applicants must be professional nurses who already have a Diploma in Nursing from a recognized Nursing Training College, with a Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) OF 2.5 or better.
